In this post we will discuss in one place FAQs of our customers for both evacuation and technical access ladders and bumpers, posts and guard rails. We will focus on practical issues. such as Site-specific selection, basic installation requirements, adaptability to the site and what you usually ask before placing an order. This will make it easier to prepare for a security upgrade in the hall or warehouse and move more quickly from need to specific solution.
Escape ladders - Frequently asked questions
Evacuation ladders are a key part of a safe exit from higher levels of a hall, roof or mezzanine floor. In this section, we have gathered the most frequently asked questions from customers regarding their height, installation, and the possibility of manufacturing them in other dimensions and colours, so that it is easier to choose the right solution for a specific building.
In practice it is assumed minimum distance approx. 15 cm between the ladder step and the wall. This distance allows you to rest your foot freely and ensures a secure, stable ascent and descent.
If there are fittings, cornices or other obstructions on the wall that increase or decrease this distance, it is worth taking them into account already at the stage of selecting the brackets and the method of attachment. This will avoid a situation in which the ladder is installed correctly „on paper”, but is uncomfortable to use in practice.
Yes. There is no rigid limit to the height of the ladder on our offer side. We regard the lengths shown on the website as examples. these are simply the most common variants.
If a ladder higher than standard models is needed, we prepare a solution for the specific object. In practice, it is important above all:
what it is actual access height,
what are installation conditions. type of wall, substrate, environment, access.
On this basis, the choice of ladder length, the method of attachment, the safety features required by the regulations and the exit solution at the top. At greater heights, it is often also worth considering additional elements improving user comfort and safety, e.g. byduly designed roof access or protective basket or basket lock to restrict unauthorised service access. This ensures that the ladder is matched not only „to size”, but also to the actual use of the ladder in the facility.
In the case of a 6 metre high wall, it is not only important to get the ladder „to the edge”, but also to go up safely.
The most common assumption is that the ladder should extend approximately 1.1 m above the edge, so that the user has something to grab onto when moving to the roof, platform or mezzanine.
With a wall length of 6 metres, it is assumed that the wall structure will project over the wall (1.1m) - the so-called exit above the level - to enable safe ascent or descent.
The cost of delivery of an escape ladder depends on the overall size of the ladder length, number of elements or additional options e.g. a passage over an attic or a platform. This is a larger product than normal courier parcels, so the transport cost is only calculated with the specific order configuration.
As a guide, it can be assumed that with standard ladders, the delivery amount is usually approximately PLN 250
Yes. In addition to the standard colours shown on the the ladder can be painted in any RAL colour. This makes it easy to match it with the building façade, existing structures, health and safety signage or corporate identity. The ladder can thus fulfil its technical and evacuation function, while at the same time „blending in” aesthetically with the building's surroundings.
Bumpers, posts and guard rails - the most common questions
The second group of questions concerns infrastructure protection in and around the hall. industrial bumpers, posts and guard rails. These are the elements that, in practice, protect racks, gates, walls, columns and pedestrian routes from the effects of collisions and drivers' mistakes.
Yes. For larger orders it is possible to obtain discounts and individual pricing. In such cases, we tailor the offer to the scope of delivery and the number of products, so that the conditions are as favourable as possible for the customer.
Yes. Steel components for the outdoors should be made of galvanised steel, as the zinc coating effectively protects them from corrosion. Galvanised steel is definitely more resistant to changing weather conditions. This means that bumpers, railings and posts retain their protective and aesthetic properties. As a result, bumpers, railings and posts retain their protective properties and aesthetics for a longer period of time, even in demanding outdoor environments.
Yes. It is possible to order products in non-standard dimensions or configurations. In this case, it is best to contact our technical advisor on 534 983 804, to discuss the details, clarify requirements and select a solution tailored to the specific site and working conditions.
If you have additional questions concerning escape ladders, bumpers, posts or barriers, we will be happy to help you find the right solution for your facility. You can contact our technical advisor at 534 983 804 or write to us directly via the contact form on the website.
